Purpose

Significant progress has been achieved in the field of rare isotope (RI) nuclear physics in Japan over the past decades. With the recent commencement of the RI beam accelerator project RAON in Korea, interest in low-energy nuclear physics—encompassing nuclear structure, nuclear reactions, and their applications to astrophysics—has been rapidly growing.

This workshop is organized to strengthen collaboration between Japanese and Korean researchers working in these areas. Its primary objectives are:

  1. To facilitate ongoing and future collaborative research.
  2. To review and discuss the current status and future prospects of RI nuclear physics and nuclear astrophysics.
  3. To promote exchanges and networking among young researchers from both countries.

The first workshop in this series was successfully held at RCNP, Osaka, on December 18–20, 2024, laying the foundation for future collaborations. Building on this success, the present workshop aims to further deepen cooperation and create new opportunities for joint research between Japan and Korea.
